Methodwise is designed to support parents, caregivers, and educators in helping children learn. We aim to collect only the information necessary to operate the Service responsibly and improve the experience over time.

Information you provide
When you create an account or use Methodwise, we may collect:
- Email address and account information
- Authentication details (for example, when signing in with Google or Apple)
- Grade level and subject selections
- Photos of homework or worksheets you choose to share in the chat
- Messages, prompts, and content submitted through the chat
- Payment information (processed securely by Stripe on the website, or by Apple for subscriptions bought in the app; we do not store your full credit card details)
- Feedback or messages you choose to send to us
Information collected automatically
We may collect limited technical and usage information, such as:
- Message counts and feature usage
- Device type and browser information
- A random identifier created by the app, used to count free questions before you sign in
- IP address and timestamps (for security and reliability)
- Basic analytics data (for example, page views), if enabled
How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Provide and operate the Service
- Authenticate users and manage accounts
- Process subscriptions and payments
- Deliver AI-generated educational guidance
- Enforce usage limits and prevent misuse
- Improve product quality, usability, and reliability

AI and Data Processing
Methodwise uses third-party AI services to generate educational responses.
- Chat inputs are processed to provide instructional guidance for parents
- Homework photos are sent to our AI provider to generate a response and are not saved to your chat history
- We do not use user data to train public AI models
- Data is processed only as needed to operate the Service and improve quality
AI-generated content is intended to support learning and should not be considered professional or instructional advice.
Third-Party Services
Methodwise relies on trusted third-party providers to operate the Service, including:
- Supabase for authentication and database services
- Anthropic (Claude) for AI-powered response generation, including reading homework photos you share
- Google OAuth and Sign in with Apple for optional sign-in authentication
- Stripe for secure payment processing on the website
- Apple and RevenueCat for subscriptions bought in the iPhone app
- Resend for sending account and update emails
- Vercel for website hosting and serverless infrastructure
- YouTube for hosting and delivering instructional videos
- Google Analytics and Pinterest to measure website visits and how our ads perform (website only; the iPhone app does not use them)
These providers process limited data only as necessary to deliver their services and are subject to their own privacy policies. Methodwise does not permit these providers to use data for independent or unrelated purposes.
Children's Privacy
Methodwise is intended for use by adults, including parents, caregivers, and educators.
- We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children
- Parents and caregivers should avoid submitting personally identifiable information about children
- If we become aware that personal data from a child has been collected unintentionally, we will take steps to delete it promptly
Data Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information against unauthorized access, disclosure, or misuse. However, no system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Data Retention
We retain personal information only as long as necessary to:
- Provide the Service

Users may delete their account and associated data at any time. In the iPhone app, go to Account and tap Delete Account, or contact us to make the request.
